About the Book:

The Government of India has decided to develop 100 "Smart Cities" in the country. The smart city means different things to different people. It could be smart design, smart utilities, smart housing, smart mobility, smart technology etc. The book Smart Cities Transforming India is the outcome of the contributions made by the delegates who participated in the national seminar held on 03 May 2015 at Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University. The book highlights the various issues, challenges and opportunities of smart cities, and its relevance in the development of country. The book contains thirty three chapters comprising both managerial and technological aspects of smart cities.



About the Author:

Omji Gupta: Presently working in the capacity of Director, School of Management Studies, U.P. Rajarshi Tandon Open University, Allahabad, having a rich experience of more than thirty years of teaching UG, PG classes and in research guidance. Earlier, he has been Associate Professor at Feroze Gandhi P.G. College, Rae Bareli. Area of specialization is Finance and Marketing. Merit holder, M.Com 1982 batch and D.Phil from University of Allahabad. He has about 40 research papers published in reputed national journals & edited books. He has also chaired and co-chaired about a dozen national seminars and delivered key note addresses.

Devesh Ranjan Tripathi: D.Phil, M.M.S, P.G.D.J.M.C, joined as faculty member in School of Management Studies, U.P. Rajarshi Tandon Open University, Allahabad, about eleven years back. He has also taught management and commerce in conventional mode of institutions. He has participated in a number of short-term training programmes on research, management, soft skills and distance education. He is also actively associated with a large number of professional bodies and business houses. He has attended twelve International seminars, twenty two National seminars and twenty workshops. To his credit, forty research papers and articles were published in leading journals and edited volumes. Dr. Tripathi has authored “Marketing Strategies of Open Institution” besides being the member of editorial team of various esteemed journals.

Gaurav Sankalp: Presently working as Academic Consultant, School of Management Studies, U.P. Rajarshi Tandon Open University, Allahabad. Merit holder, M.Com 2005 &D.Phil from University of Allahabad, MBA (HR) and UGC (NET). He has authored four books and has more than thirty four research papers and articles published in national and international journals. Member of five international and two national panels of reviewer and life-time member of International Society for Development & Sustainability (ISDS) Japan.
