About the Book:
World War II was the greatest and most violent war in human history. The introduction to this book places each battle within the overall strategy of the war. Then, by contrasting the plans of each side with the actual outcome, the book gives fresh insight into the battles by which this titanic struggle was won and lost. Specially commissioned maps, a chronology of key events, and a list of the forces and commanders involved complement each in-depth battle essay
