ABOUT THE BOOK

Warfare is entering a decisive new era, one shaped less by visible firepower and more by invisible forces such as algorithms, artificial intelligence, data, and emerging technologies. As the boundary between science fiction and reality blurs, military advantage will increasingly belong to those who can master code, computing power, and innovation at speed.

The Algorithm of War: Code Compute Conquer – Insights for the Indian Army`s Next Leap examines this transformation through an Indian lens. Drawing on historical lessons and contemporary technological trends, the book explores how disruptive technologies are redefining the character of war and what the Indian Army must do to stay ahead in a complex and volatile strategic environment.

The book traces the evolution of technology in warfare, analyses emerging and future technologies, from AI and robotics to space, quantum computing and biotechnology and assesses their impact on the Indian Army`s combat and support arms. It concludes with a practical roadmap, advocating deeper integration with DRDO, ISRO, startups, and the private sector, and calls for a culture of innovation built on close collaboration between soldiers and scientists.

Focused, forward-looking, and action-oriented, this book argues that future victory will depend on how effectively humans leverage machines rather than replace them. Code Compute Conquer is both a strategic guide and a call to action for preparing the Indian Army for its next great leap into the future.
