ABOUT THE BOOK

fjrigjwwe9r0pp_Books:Description

Few men loom larger than life in their own time and also leave behind a monumental legacy of both courage and controversy. Douglas MacArthur was one of those rare few. Even today, he continues to arouse both admiration and contention.

In World War-I, MacArthur led his Rainbow Division to smashing victories and emerged as the most highly decorated American general. In World War-II, he directed the defense of Bataan and won everlasting fame with his pledge to the people of the Philippines: “I shall return.” At the age of 70, MacArthur answered a final call to arms. This time, he went to Korea, which would become the scene of his greatest triumph—and most humiliating failure.
