ABOUT THE BOOK

This book is the result of joint research of scholars from India and the Kyrgyz Republic and focuses on current trends in relations between the two countries. It contains a detailed examination of the cultural, historical, political, diplomatic, and economic aspects of India–Kyrgyz cooperation at the bilateral, regional, and international levels. Both the countries are poised to play significant roles in international affairs, and this book advances knowledge in understanding how and why these developments have occurred. This compendium provides valuable and timely insights into the contours of their policies and emerging trends of importance to students and scholars of regional and international affairs worldwide. This book aims at enabling a better understanding of Indo-Kyrgyz relations through scholarly exchanges and sharing perceptions in the gamut of historic-cultural economic- nation building topics faced in the region. It has 19 articles from distinguished scholars from India and the Kyrgyz Republic. I hope this book will contribute to a greater and enlightened appreciation of Indo-Kyrgyz relations and advance common interests in Central Asia and other regions. It would be useful in Track I and Track II levels of engagement and is likely to be of direct interest to scholars, policymakers, diplomats, entrepreneurs, academics and decision-makers in both countries and those with a general interest in Central Asia. This region has assumed high importance in recent times.
